FOOD AND DRINK FROM THE WEST COUNTRY
The dining room and bar form the heart of the Ormond Coaching Inn. Whether it’s a full English breakfast, traditional Sunday Roast, pre-wedding celebration meal or morning coffee and brownie, we cater for every occasion with delicious, modern British food. We offer a daily changing menu, authentic Italian-style pizzas, a children’s menu, sandwiches, ciabattas and freshly made cakes, not to mention cream teas in summer.
As we make everything ourselves we can cater for any dietary requirements and we offer gluten free options for many items and soy milk as standard. We do ask that you inform us of any allergies as soon as possible.
Head Chef Mariusz Przeworski.
Originally from Poland, Mario’s career in the UK began over 10 years ago. Importantly he has spent all of this time here in the Cotswolds. Locally renowned 5 star hotel Calcot Manor was his first position in the area, soon followed by the Rectory Hotel and Swan at Southrop, before joining The Ormond in January 2012.
Mario runs a busy kitchen serving robust, seasonal British food with some classic French inspired dishes using local sourced produce, game and meat from the many of the farms around Tetbury. He can often be seen at Stroud farmer’s market buying from local suppliers like Madgett’s Farm, suppliers of duck, and generally keeping in touch with new local food producers.
If you are going to dine with us during your stay, we would strongly recommend that you book a table; especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

We know that more and more of you are interested in the provinence of your food, how many miles it’s travelled to the plate and how seasonal it is. We take a great deal of care to source products locally, but we try not to sound too worthy about it; buying locally is an ever expanding process for all of us. There are some products, such as chorizo or parmegiano reggiano which we still want to cook with, so we believe in balance.
DRINKS
The Ormond Pub has long been a popular meeting place in town. With its warm and cosy atmosphere it is exceptionally welcoming and with a fire and candles in the winter, newspapers, magazines and sofas, it’s a great spot to while away an evening.
We have been awarded a Cask Marque, meaning that an independent inspection from this association has taken place to ensure that our real ale is in perfect condition. We generally offer three real ales, including a guest ale, premium draught beers, draught ciders and a great variety of bottled and continental beers and ciders. We have a wide selection of wines by the glass, warming mulled wine in winter, and an excellent choice of digestifs and local fruit liqueurs from suppliers in Gloucestershire.
Wines
We have enjoyed compiling our wine list and it offers a good selection of champagnes and wines from all of the key wine-making countries. We buy from several merchants locally in order to provide a truly independent list to keep things interesting.
There is something for every occasion and every palate, plus a few surprises and we regularly add new wines we have discovered on our travels, something our regulars really appreciate. We are very open to suggestions too.
COURTYARD GARDEN
Our Courtyard garden gets more cultivated every year as our planting increases and plants mature. From spring onwards the garden is a riot of colour and a wonderful quiet oasis away from the bustle of central Tetbury.
A surprisingly large space, the garden is open throughout the day and early evening. It is available for eating and drinking in the summer and we have a 55″ TV for watching key sporting or national events. The top part of the garden can be booked for private parties in the summer and is a very comfortable and relaxing space.
PRIVATE DINING
the Snug or Dining Room are all perfect for private dining depending on the numbers.
All menus are created for you depending on your budget and the occasion. There is very little our kitchen can’t manage so please feel free to discuss your ideas.
